Consultation Period for Proposed Middleton Primary School Enters Final Weeks

The consultation period for a proposed new primary school in Middleton, Leeds, will end on January 12 after seven-weeks.

Elements Primary School, which is still subject to planning permission, has used its consultation period to respond to parents’ queries and concerns over the new school.

The remaining period will include a drop-in at Tenants Hall, Middleton, to which all prospective students’ parents are invited. This event will take place tomorrow, Thursday January 4 from 1pm to 4pm.

At the drop-in event, parents have the opportunity to ask any questions they may have about the plans for Elements Primary School and its proposed location at Acre Mount.

There will be a final drop-in event at the same location on Wednesday January 10 from 4pm to 6pm.

On both of these dates, Tenants Hall will also play host to a coffee morning for prospective parents – both coffee mornings will run from 10am until 11am.

Finally, on Friday January 12, Elements will be running an All Day Promotion Event at the White Rose Shopping Centre, Middleton. The end of this event will coincide with closing of the consultation period.

The school’s newly appointed Principal, Sarah Horsbrough, will be present at these events to outline the plans for Elements and take questions.

Miss Horsbrough said “I’m looking forward to meeting parents and community leaders at the series of drop-in events and coffee mornings we’re holding.

“A brand new school provides the very best opportunities for a fantastic education. This really is an opportunity to be part of something special.”

Elements is a proposed primary school which will be managed by Wellspring Academy Trust, joining 15 schools across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. The trust has achieved notable successes that include Top 10 Most Improved Primary School in 2015 and Top 5 Most Improved Secondary School in 2017.

Admissions to Elements Primary School through the Leeds City Council application process are now open to children of Reception age in September 2018. Admissions close at the end of January.

To apply for a place at Elements parents need to complete the form onLeeds City Council’s online admissions page.
