Redfern Relaunches SOLO Campaign to Find 2017’s Most Female-Friendly Hotel

Following the success of last year’s campaign, leading TMC Redfern is relaunching SOLO – a campaign to find the UK’s most female-friendly hotel in 2017.

Last year’s inaugural SOLO campaign gave the title to The Crowne Plaza Newcastle Stephenson Quarter. The 2016 campaign was met with appreciation by both women and the hotels alike.

With women accounting for around 42% of Redfern’s hotel booking customers, the need to satisfy the demands of today’s female travellers has never been more pressing for the corporate travel industry.

Kate Wimpeney, COO at Redfern, explained: “The purpose of the SOLO campaign was to find the hotels who really understand the needs of women who have to travel for business, and work hard to meet those needs.

“We were delighted with the response our SOLO campaign received last year. It was great to hear the views of female travellers and The Crowne Plaza Newcastle proved a worthy winner.

“Our campaign looks to recognise hotels which go the extra mile to ensure both female safety and comfort. Travelling in comfort and security should be part of every woman’s working life. All those nominated last year are now flagged on the tRIPS system to help other female travellers choose a hotel that has been recommended by likeminded travellers.

“Last year we celebrated the very best that the industry had to offer – this year it is about building on the success of the campaign and continuing to help SOLO travellers

Female travellers are invited to nominate hotels via a nomination form on the Redfern website. Anyone who submits a nomination will be entered into a draw to win a night’s stay at the first SOLO award winner, the Crowne Plaza Newcastle Stephenson Quarter.

A shortlist will be drawn up from the nominations and judges will then review those shortlisted using a ‘mystery shopping’ exercise. The winner will be announced in May 2018
